We hear it all the time and it is a huge misconception that "my legs are going to get big if I spin." The interval training that we practice at Cycle614 allows you to tone muscles that you didn't even know you had and sculpt your body into phenomenal shape. Another reason for indoor cycling! Women! Listen up! Inactivity is the largest risk factor for heart disease for women after the age of 30 over high blood pressure and even smoking. The British Journal of Sports Medicine found that smoking is most common risk for heart disease in young adult women but after hitting the Big 30 women are more at risk if they don’t break a sweat. CAN A BEGINNER SURVIVE AN INDOOR CYCLING CLASS AT CYCLE614?

The best thing about this format of exercise is that you are in complete control of the gear at which you ride, whether you are seated or standing or if you are sprinting or jogging.  It’s a completely individual workout done with the added benefit of having the group and the instructor there to guide and motivate you.  If this still doesn’t put your mind at ease, our first ride is always free for you to discover why it’s the most addictive cardio workout available. 



WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

Try to arrive at least 15 minutes early if you are a newbie coming to Cycle614. It is so  important to make sure your bike is set up correctly. Our front desk staff and instructors are trained to help fit you to your indoor bike and can show you the correct adjustments for your handle bars, saddle and distance between the two. Arriving early to class will allow you time to get the most out of your cycle class by having the proper alignment through the entire ride. 



WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Dress in cool clothing or layers as the workouts get warm. Many people wear cycling shorts.  They are not absolutely necessary  but are great for easing saddle soreness (especially in the first few classes). 



DO I NEED SPECIAL SHOES?

Our bikes at Cycle614  have a dual-sided pedal that has a cage on one side (for your gym trainers) and a SPD-compatible clip on the other if you’re wearing cycling shoes.  Although cycling shoes are not mandatory for the classes at Cycle614, we highly recommend them as they make a tremendous difference in your efficiency on the bike!  You will see an increase of up to 30% in your power output once you are clipped in and able to properly pull up on that pedal.  It’s well worth the investment if you see yourself making indoor cycling a regular part of your fitness routine. WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO BRING TO CLASS?

Reusable H20 Bottle!  Indoor cycling is sweaty business and your water will be your favorite accessory on that bike.  If you happen to leave your water behind, we sell reusable water bottles and you can use our complimentary hydration system to fill up. We don’t sell bottled water because Americans use 2.5 million plastic bottles every hour. Instead we provide you with unlimited access to our Alkaline Water system (which hydrates your body 6 times faster). Just bring your own reusable bottle. Oh! And of course, a positive attitude!



DO I NEED TO RESERVE AHEAD OF TIME, OR CAN I JUST WALK-IN?

You can always walk-in to the studio and see if there is an open bike, but we strongly suggest booking online as our classes sell out quickly and we typically have a wait list!



CAN I CANCEL AN ONLINE RESERVATION ONCE IT’S BOOKED?

You can cancel a reservation for any class as late as 5:00 p.m. the evening before the day of the class, and the class will be returned to your account for use at a later date within the expiration period of the class package.  If you cancel later than this your account will be charged for the class.
